Back in 1887, an ingenious man named Charles Fey invented the Slot Machine. These new gaming machines where manufactured - by hand - and put into San Francisco area casinos. Not only was Charles Fey the inventor of the slot machines his was the first one to sell and distribute them.

Some people are under the assumption that these early machines were large and cumbersome, however, that is not true at all. They were pretty much the same size as todays slot machines. Together, they developed the next great slot, the Mills Liberty Bell. Another couple of years down the line, in 1910, the Mills Company  introduced yet another first in the Slot Machine industry. This new machine was called the Operator Bell, and was the first slot machine to don the now famous Fruit Symbols.
