Weekend promotions at VIP Slots Casino
This weekend I will be Christmas shopping. I’ve been slacking and haven’t started yet. If the shopping doesn’t drain my bank account, though, I intend to play some online slots as well. Every weekend you can count on finding some good promotions and tournaments and VIP Slots Casino is no exception.
The promotions start day, Friday, December 10. Today is Fiesta Friday at VIP Slots. That means you get double loyalty points when you play the La Cucaracha slot. Double points are awarded for playing the game between the hours of 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM EST.
The following day, Saturday, December 11, is 7 Reel Saturday. On that day, players receive double points for playing the Lucky 7s online slot. In addition, the day is also part of Bonus Saturdays. Players receive a 100% match bonus on their first deposit of the day.
Throughout the weekend, you can also take part in the Holiday Feast tournament. They like to start their feasts early at VIP Slots. I don’t recommend you do the same with your eating habits, or you will be obese by New Year’s. The Holiday Feast is a slot tournament that takes place in four rounds. The first round ends on Saturday, December 11. Round two begins on Sunday, December 12 and runs until December 18.
Each round of the Holiday Feast tournament has an entry fee of $5 and the prizes are shares of the pot. In addition, the top 200 players in each round earn free entry into the 2011 January Showdown tournament, which can be considered a final round for the Holiday Feast. That tournament runs from January 3 to January 9. There is entry fee for the tournament. Players cannot buy their way into the tournament and can only enter if they qualify in the Holiday Feast tournament. The January Showdown tournament has a $50,000 prize pool.
To take advantage of any of these promotions, visit VIP Slots Casino.
Holiday Feast tournament at VIP Slots Casino
You have to hand it to online casinos: They do a great job of cashing in on holidays. When any major holiday is coming, those casinos always seem to have a promotion that lines up with the day. Christmas is one of the biggest holidays in the world, so even though it’s 22 days away, it’s not too early to begin Christmas promotions.
Starting this weekend, VIP Slots Casino is running the Holiday Feast promotion. Great, like feasting on holiday food is what I want to think about now. I’m not over Thanksgiving yet! The slot tournament begins on Sunday and does not end until December 31.
The slot tournament takes place in four rounds, with each played on a different game. Each round has an entry fee of $5 and players compete for a share of the pot. Round One of the Holiday Feast tournament takes place from Sunday, December 5, to Saturday, December 11. It is played on the Fat Cat slot. I think a game about an obese character is fitting for a feast-themed tournament.
Round Two of the Holiday Feast tournament is played on the Naughty Ninjas slot and is will be held from December 12 to December 18. The third round of the tournament runs from December 19 to December 25 and is played on the Beat the Bank slot. The fourth and final round of the Holiday Feast tournament takes place from December 26 to December 31. It is played on the Reel Deal slot.
To take part in the Christmas-themed slot tournament, visit VIP Slots Casino. And if you are unable to take part in this one, don’t worry. There will be plenty more Christmas-themed tournaments this month.
Dark Christmas slot released by RTG
There are really two different kinds of Christmas themes that come up this time of year. The first is the heartwarming kind of Christmas story, like the kinds of movies they show on the Hallmark Channel. The other kind is a darker version, like Fred Clause or anything that takes Christmas and does something sick and twisted with it. That includes online slots, of course.
There are plenty of heartwarming traditional online slots with a Christmas theme. Those are a lot of fun, because I am a sucker for sappy Christmas stories. Realtime Gaming also has some twisted Christmas slots, which are also fun because I love dark humor.
First RTG released Rudolph’s Revenge, where the red-nosed reindeer seems to be angry about something (maybe he was underpaid) and tried to hijack Christmas and kill Santa. After that, we had Santa Strikes Back, where St. Nick gets even (no word on whether Rudolph got to keep his job as official sleigh-guider). Now there is a new dark Christmas slot called the Return of the Rudolph.
With the “strikes back” and “return of the” being parts of the title, you might think these games relate to Star Wars. They do. The new game shows an evil Rudolph wearing a cloak (like some Jedi wear) and wielding a baseball bat in such a way that it looks like a lightsaber.
I suppose the worst thing about the feud between Santa and Rudolph is how it has affected the children. Looking at the symbols on the online slot, you see presents with the wrapping torn and peeling off. Some gifts look smashed. This is not good for Christmas at all.
Rudolph’s Revenge is a 5-reel slot with up to 50 paylines. Rudolph is the wild symbol and can also be used as an expanded wild, where he triples all winnings. The scatter symbol unlocks multiplier bonuses from three to 20 times the bet. The online slot also features a bonus game called Rudolph’s Rampage. In that bonus game, you are taken to the scene of a factory that was attacked by Rudolph. There are three elves missing and you must find them by checking different rooms. If you find an elf in the rooms you pick, you win bonus money.
If you are looking for a dark and quirky online slot for the holiday season, I can’t think of any better than RTG’s new Return of the Rudolph.
Are 3-D slots the next big thing?
In January, Paddy Power is going to launch two revolutionary new online slots. What makes them so different is the fact that the slots are 3-D. Now I don’t mean 3-D as in “characters are shown in realistic-looking polygons, making them appear three-dimensional.” We’ve seen 3-D casino games like that. While they look better than the flat-looking graphics of old games, they are not truly three-dimensional. To be 3-D, the image has to have length, width and depth. On some games, that depth is faked through perception. These new online slots, however, will literally seem to pop out of the screen at you, like watching Avatar in the theater. Doing so requires that the player wear 3-D glasses, which Paddy Power will mail to any player upon request.
This is a gimmick, to be sure, but does it mean they will be good games? I have no idea. To me, the bigger question is: Are 3-D slots the next big thing for online casinos? Honestly, I hope not. I personally find all of this 3-D stuff annoying. There hasn’t been a single movie shot in 3-D yet that I want to see. Taking a lame movie and making stuff pop out at you doesn’t make me want to go to a theater.
Now companies are trying to sell 3-D televisions. I would find watching my normal shows in 3-D annoying (and that includes the special 3-D episode of Chuck, a show I just so happen to love). Not only is it annoying, though, but it could be hazardous to your health. A recent study performed by people a lot smarter than me (some science journal) said that long-term viewing of 3-D TV or movies would cause brain damage. To make the images 3-dimensional, the technology has to trick your brain. Long-term effects of messing with your brain isn’t good. It leads to headaches, blurred vision and potentially a loss of depth perception.
What does this mean for 3-D slots? Maybe nothing. I would advise that you don’t play those slots for long periods of time, certainly not for more than a couple hours at a time. I would also advise that you don’t play those slots every day. Of course, I’m not a scientist.
So is everything going to be 3-D soon? I like reading books, but are respected novelists going to start writing pop-up books? Sure, I can see Dan Brown doing that, but hopefully no one I like. Personally, I think that all of this 3-D stuff is a novelty that will soon be abandoned. Our culture has jumped on the 3-D thing a few times before and it never lasted very long. Besides, remember when they were talking about Smellavision? Now there’s something I definitely don’t want in an online slot. Keep your smells to yourselves, thank you.
Weekend tournaments at Online Vegas
It’s almost 5:00 on Friday when I’m writing this, which means I’m buzzing a little. That’s because I have certain traditions for the weekend. On Friday, I kick off the weekend with a nice big liquid lunch and then at 4:00 I go back to the ol’ flask for a refreshing. When 5:00 rolls around, it’s time to hit the pub for Happy Hour. Then Friday night I go out to the clubs and try to pick up women. When that fails, I go home, log onto my favorite online casinos, and play some slot tournaments. Saturday and Sunday I watch a lot of sports and play in the tournaments some more.
This weekend I want to highlight the tournaments at Online Vegas Casino. There are several tournaments from which to choose. For some reason, the regular Weekend Madness tournament doesn’t seem to be offered this time. However, there is the Weekend 3-Hour Quickie tournament. That is played from 10:00 PM on Saturday to 1:00 AM on Sunday. The game this time is played on the Bigfoot slot. There is a $3.99 entry fee and a prize pool of $1,000.
The casino is also running the Countdown to Thanksgiving Freeroll. That began back on October 14 and ends on November 25, which is Thanksgiving day. The tournament is played on the Funky Chicken slot, which is fitting, though a Funky Turkey slot would have been better. There is no entry fee for the tournament and players compete for a share of a $200,000 prize pool. If you run out of credits, you can re-buy for an amount of $12.99.
Another free slot tournament is the Bonus Buck Weekend Freeroll. That is played from 9:00 AM on Saturday to 10:00 PM on Sunday. It is played on the Magic Monkey slot and the prize pool is $2,500 in bonus bucks.
To take part in any of those slot tournaments, visit Online Vegas Casino. I advise against playing while drunk, though. I’ve done it before and it’s not wise.
Virgin Casino holding Harry Potter promotion
Virgin Casino is running a Harry Potter promotion. Exciting, right? Well, the first thing I thought when I read that is “there’s a Harry Potter slot? When did that happen? How did I miss it?” The truth is no, there isn’t, it didn’t happen, and I heard nothing because there is nothing. That doesn’t stop Virgin Casino from running a promotion for the popular wizard series, though.
For those who don’t know what Harry Potter is…haha, just kidding! The latest Harry Potter movie will open on November 19 and Virgin Casino is holding a promotion to coincide with the excitement and anticipation. Though there is no slot game for the JK Rowling character, players who enter a promotion have a chance to win a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. That park earlier this year opened a new section called the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which has gotten rave reviews from Potter fans everywhere.
This is a sweepstakes contest, where players are chosen at random from a pool of eligible players. To be eligible, all you have to do is wager at least $250 on a select group of online slots between now and November 21. The selected games are Tomb Raider II, The War of the Worlds, Double Diamond, Cashapillar, Wolf Run, Bitten, Da Vinci Diamonds, Amazon Wild, Clover Rollover and Cleopatra.
Players who win will get an expenses-paid trip to Orlando for themselves and up to three guests to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you’re a big fan of the fantasy series, I can’t think of a better thing to do then see the new movie on November 19 and then go to the park two days later.
To enter the contest, visit Virgin Casino between now and November 21.
Playtech releases new Christmas slot
Playtech has released a new Christmas-themed online slot. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I guess it’s fine to release it that early, but I’m sure not going to play it yet. My neighbor already has his Christmas lights and other decorations up. It’s the second week of November! Can’t you at least wait until after Thanksgiving?
So Playtech has released a new online slot with a Christmas theme, called Santa’s Surprise. That’s fine and it’s better to be early with that than late, but I’m not playing it yet. So I can’t tell you whether I like it or not, but I can tell you what I have heard about it. Supposedly, this game is a 5-reel slot that has a 10,000 coin jackpot. The game features a soundtrack that features Christmas carols, Santa’s voice and more. If it has the smell of eggnog, pumpkin pie and cookies it would be even better!
The new slot has symbols you would expect with this theme, including Santa, a Christmas theme and presents. There is also an interactive bonus around, where the player is shown three wrapped presents and must pick one. Each present has a hidden bonus inside. Now there’s the kind of cleverness I like in a slot game. That bonus game recreates the excitement and suspense of opening presents on Christmas morning, not knowing what’s inside.
I can’t really tell you more about this game yet because I haven’t played it. After Thanksgiving I will and then I will give you a full review. Until then, I will try to finish eating my leftover Halloween candy.
Ongoing tournaments at Super Slots Casino
I love playing online slots as much as the next guy. Okay, actually, I love playing online slots more than the next guy, unless the next guy constantly plays new slots and writes a blog about slots. Still, as much as I love the games, sometimes I get bored with the normal play and I want more competition. That’s where slot tournaments come in.
With tournament play, you get to experience the thrill of competing against other slot players. Instead of just getting excited about your wins and bummed at your losses, you keep an eye on the leader board and worry about how well other players are doing. Plus you get to take a shot at prizes without spending much, or sometimes any, of your own money.
Right now there are several tournament options available to you at Super Slots Casino. If you want a big tournament with big prize money, you can’t do better than the Big Turkey tournament. That takes place throughout the entire month of November. Though its entry fee is only $5, the prize pool is $100,000 in guaranteed cash. Another big tournament is the Slottery, which also takes place all month but in 5 weekly stages. Each stage has a $5 buy-in and players compete for the pot.
For a shorter tournament, there is the Weekender, which takes place from Friday to Monday. The Weekender tournament has a $5 entry fee and players fight for a share of the pot. If even that is too long, there are a number of daily tournaments, such as the daily Play for the Pot tournament. Those run each day from 12:01 AM to 10:59 PM and have a $3 entry fee. There are also the Quick Slots tournaments, which run daily for 2.5 hours and have a $0.50 entry fee.
Whether you want a short and quick slot tournament or a long tournament, Super Slots Casino has you covered. With a variety of tournaments available for as little as $0.50, virtually anything you could want in a slot tournament can be found somewhere at Super Slots.
Best Online Slots: Mad Dash
Mad Dash is an online slot that brings me back to my childhood. If you’ve read my blog, you know how much I love games that do that. In this case, it reminds me of the old Looney Tunes cartoons with a tortoise racing a hare (usually played by Bugs Bunny). The tortoise would often cheat by using a jet pack or something. It also reminds me of video games like Mario Kart, where you see traditional characters that you love stuffed onto tiny race cars and battling it out. The Mad Dash slot has a little bit of both.
This is a game that pits a tortoise, hare, fox and other animals against each other in a race. Instead of running (which is really bad on the joints and way too exhausting), this is an auto race. The online slot features symbols of various cartoon animals on their race cars as well as other racing-related items.
Mad Dash is a 5-reel, 20-payline online slot that had a good number of bonuses. Players can win up to 25 free spins and all free-spin wins are multiplied by four. There is also a cool bonus game, where you compete in a race. You are shown three different racers, three different race cars and a choice of race venue. You then pick one selection for all three and get a certain number of bonus points depending on how well the animal you chose did on the car of choice on the course of choice.
In some ways this slot is actually better than the old cartoon and video game. It’s less frustrating than watching Bugs Bunny lose in a race he was comfortably leading and though it may not be as fun as playing Mario Kart, it comes with better rewards if you do win (um, that would be money).
The Mad Dash slot can be found at All Slots Casino.
New Robin Hood online slot
Robin Hood is one of those classic tales that is retold over and over and never seems to get old. It is reinterpreted many different ways, but I’ve loved almost every version. There’s the socialist version of the story, where Robin Hood steals money from the rich to give to the poor, people who need it more. There is the more traditional version, where Robin Hood is stealing money from the Sheriff that he had already stolen from the people so he can give them their own money back. Then there is the Russell Crowe version and I’m still not sure what happened there. I’m pretty sure the filmmakers got Robin Hood mixed up with someone else. Now Robin Hood is also the subject of a new online slot from Microgaming.
The title of the slot is Robin Hood: Feathers of Fortune and it can be found at All Slots Casino. Yes, that does say “feathers.” That is because all of the characters in the game are portrayed as birds. We’ve already seen animals portray the characters in the Disney movie (which had Robin Hood as a fox). Here they’re all birds, including Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian and the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Now that I think of it, we have already seen Robin Hood portrayed as a bird. Daffy Duck was once Robin Hood in an old Looney Tunes cartoon.
This online slot doesn’t have traditional paylines. Instead, there are 243 ways to win. The slot game has a number of bonus features, such as the free spins that are triggered by the Wanted poster. Players can also hit a multiplier bonus of up to 15 times the bet.
More information will come as I play the game some more, but after a quick initial sampling, I rather like it. Of course, as I stated earlier, I’m a sucker for all things Robin Hood.
To play the Robin Hood: Feathers of Fortune slot, visit All Slots Casino.
