Super Market Sweep tournament at VIP Slots

October 5th, 2010

Now that the Slottery tournament is over, you might be thinking now what? After a month of playing in the large tournament, you might want to take a break. Play some games in regular, non-tournament action. If so, that’s fine, but for me, I’m already looking ahead to the next tournament at VIP Slots Casino.

From October 8 through October 11, VIP Slots is running the Super Market Sweep slot tournament. The Super Market slot is based on the old Supermarket Sweep game show on TV. It’s a show I have fond memories of, sitting there fantasizing about getting to compete on the show. I wished I had the money to buy all of the things they buy, to simply load up a shopping cart without a care about the size of the total due at the cash register. The Super Market Sweep tournament is an online slot tournament based on that game.

The slot tournament has a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool. The first-place winner will get $2,000 and the second-place player will win $1,000. The players who finish third through fifth will win $750, $500 and $250, respectively. The players who finish in sixth through tenth place will earn $100 each.

Oh, did I mention that this is a free slot tournament? That’s right. The Super Market Sweep is a freeroll tournament, so there is no entry fee. If you run out of credits, you can re-buy for $5 an unlimited number of times.

To take part in the Super Market Sweep freeroll tournament, visit VIP Slots Casino.

Playing the Gladiator Slot

September 30th, 2010

As much as I love The Lord of the Rings and its accompanying slot game, sometimes you have to take a break from playing the same thing. So I decided to play something totally different: an online slot based on an epic, Academy Award-winning movie featuring sword fighting. Of course I’m talking about the movie Gladiator and the online slot based on it, created by Playtech.

Gladiator is famous for being that movie that made us think that Russell Crowe is cool, before he ruined that by spending a few years making more headlines for being a jerk than for being in good movies. And then, of course, he was in the horrible remake of the classic 3:10 to Yuma and the ridiculous Robin Hood adaptation, so that coolness is now gone. Still, this is the movie where Crowe seemed the epitome of cool as Maximus, the Roman general betrayed and forced to live as a gladiator in order to get revenge against Emperor Commodus, played by Joaquin Phoenix before we thought he was crazy.

The Gladiator slot has everything you would want from a game based on a popular movie. It has symbols of characters from the movie, showing Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix and more in action. It has video clips and audio from the movie. Gladiator is a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot that has a variety of bonuses. The Coliseum scatter symbol unlocks a free spin bonus, during which all wins are multiplied by up to 100 times your total bet. The gladiator helmet is the wild symbol and can be substituted for any symbol. Used in the correct combination, the wild symbol also brings you to the Gladiator Bonus round, where you have to slay a tiger.

Okay, I lied about the tiger slaying. The Gladiator Bonus is simply a game where you are given a group of helmets, each with a secret bonus associated with it. You must choose a helmet and you get whichever bonus goes with it. Not terribly exciting, but at least no tigers were harmed. There is also the Coliseum Bonus round, where you throw stones are far as you can and earn bonus points depending on the distance of your throw.

The Gladiator slot can be found at Playtech Casinos, such as Go Casino and Online Vegas Casino.

New Bitten slot by WagerWorks

September 21st, 2010

The new Bitten online slot starts out good enough. The title screen shows a hot woman lying on her side, wearing a cocktail dress that has a low plunging neckline and a high slit at the leg. She is playfully running her fingers through her hair. And then you look a little closer at her mouth and see some fangs.

Oh, that’s why it’s called Bitten! The title of the slot even has fangs as the two T’s. This is yet another vampire-themed game. Don’t we have enough vampire stuff right now? There are about 5 different TV shows with vampires at the moment and don’t even get me started on Twilight.

Like the Vampire Vixen slot before it, the Bitten slot is a game with of a vampire theme, featuring vampires, coffins, bats and more. It is a 5-reel progressive online slot. It features a bonus game where you are in a room with multiple coffins and you must choose the correct coffin, with each containing a hidden bonus.

The Bitten slot has a variety of bonuses, including up to 50 free spins and a scatter symbol that can win you up to 250 times your bet. The online slot also has well-animated characters. My only problem is that I’m a little sick of vampires. Sure, at one point they were cool, but can’t we move on to something else? And no, not werewolves! I’m not sure what it should be. Maybe normal serial killers or killers of serial killers (a la Dexter). Just a thought.

Bitten may not be my kind of thing, but that’s mostly because I’m over the whole vampire thing. I’ve you’re still into vamps and are totally Team Edward or whatever, then this could be a great game for you. If that’s that case, enjoy Bitten.

Online slot player refuses jackpot

September 13th, 2010

It’s a decision that Hugo Reyes could definitely appreciate, but a lot of people think the man is crazy. An online slot player won a progressive jackpot at Jackpot City Casino and now refuses to accept the win. Why? Because of the numbers involved.

The man, who is being called Mr. C, won a prize of $4,444 on the WowPot Microgaming slot. Mr. C is a player of Chinese origin and anyone interested in numerology can probably tell you that the number 4 is considered back luck in China. In Chinese languages, the number 4 is pronounced the same as the word for death. Therefore, numerologists and superstitious people avoid the number at all costs, believing it is a harbinger of death.

You can imagine Mr. C’s dismay when he won a jackpot that is of four fours. Winning over four grand is a great deal, but not if the result is death. As Hurley in Lost learned after winning the lottery using the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42, winning using cursed numbers isn’t a good thing. For Hurley, the result was the death of his grandfather, the priest at his grandfather’s funeral being struck by lightning, his best friend running off with his girl, his restaurant being hit by a meteorite, his plane crashing on the island and more. For Mr. C, according to his beliefs, accepting the cursed money could result in his death or some other misfortune for his family.

On the other hand, that’s a lot of money to turn down. According to a spokesperson for Jackpot City Casino, the casino is talking to Mr. C to see if they can find a good solution to the problem. I have a few solutions that the online casino might want to consider:

  1. Give the money to me. Granted, this may not be the best solution for Mr. C, because he’s still out the money, but I’m not afraid of the number 4 and would gladly accept it.
  2. Change the winning amount to $3,333. That number isn’t scary.
  3. Give him a bazillion free spins instead.
  4. Just laugh and say “Dude, it’s just a number.”

I’m out of ideas.

Lord of the Rings slot tournament at Platinum Play

September 3rd, 2010

To celebrate the launch of the new Lord of the Rings slot, which was released yesterday, Platinum Play Casino is holding a promotion. People have been talking about this slot for a while and it seems that the online casino is just as excited as we are.

From now until September 28, Platinum Play Casino will reward players who wager the most money on the new Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring online slot game. Yes, that is a really long title. The online casino is giving out over $11,000 in casino credits during the promotion as well as DVD box sets and more. Each week, the player who wagers the most on the Lord of the Rings slot will win 1,500 casino credits and a set of tickets for International Casino Games. In addition, any time you play the game on a Sunday or Monday during September, you have a chance of winning an instant prize of 25 credits or a DVD box set for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. You can also earn up to quadruple rewards points for playing the game.

But how is the game? Is it really one slot to rule them all? Maybe. At least it’s really good, but this is coming from someone who has the books and movies, so I’m a Tolkien fan. For any fan of the books and movies, this Microgaming-powered online slot, based on the Fellowship of the Ring movie, should be a treat. It is a 5-reel slot with 243 ways to win, instead of normal paylines.

The Lord of the Rings slot features symbols of various characters from the movie, including Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf and more. Of course the ring is featured as well. The slot shows video clips from the movie as the reels spin and when a character is used in a winning combination, it cuts to a video clip of that character in action. There is also a creepy clip that happens when the Eye of Sauron appears on the feels. When that happens, the eye fills the screen and you can hear his voice say “I see you.”

To play the new Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring online slot game and take part in the casino promotion, where you can win $1500 and more, visit Platinum Play Casino.

Deal or No Deal slot at English Harbour

August 30th, 2010

Today I played the Reel Deal slot at English Harbour Casino, which is an online slot based on the popular Deal or No Deal TV show. To be honest, I never watched that show. It never seemed interesting to me. There is no skill involved and players basically just guess how much money is in a briefcase. There are no trivia questions or anything that makes the game anything other than dumb luck. Yes, I realize that you can say the same thing for online slots, but I don’t watch other people play them on TV. I would rather watch Gold Case, the ill-fated game show created by Kenneth, the page on 30 Rock, where contestants must guess which briefcase held by a model contains bars of gold (it turns out that gold is really heavy, so the game was really easy).

Anyway, today I played the Reel Deal slot and it does a good job of recreating the popular game show. It features symbols of cash, a phone for calling the banker, a Deal button, a silhouette of the banker, a happy contestant and more.

The Reel Deal slot is a 5-reel, 20-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $10 per line. The slot has a $100,000 jackpot. There is also a fun interactive bonus game where, like in the show, you have to decide whether or not to make a deal and either receive whatever reward goes with the briefcase or take the money offered by the banker. The online slot also features free spin bonuses and a multiplier bonus.

If you’re a fan of the Deal or No Deal TV show – and I don’t know why you would be – then you should love this online slot. If not, you’ll probably still like it. The game combines the fun of playing in a game show, which is much more fun than watching it, with the fun of playing an online slot. To play the Reel Deal slot, visit English Harbour Casino.

Slottery tournament at Super Slots

August 18th, 2010

There are only a few days left in the current phase of the Slottery tournament at Super Slots Casino. Don’t worry, though, because the next part of the slot tournament begins as soon as that one ends. It’s part of a month-long slot tournament that helps players beat the August heat by staying in and playing some slots.

On August 22, the current part of the Slottery tournament will end. This part of the slot tournament is played on the Last King of Egypt game. There is a $5 entry fee and players compete for a share of the pot. Once that part of the Slottery tournament ends, though, the fourth and final part of the tournament begins.

From August 22 through August 29, Super Slots Casino is running the final part of the Slottery tournament. It is played on the Solomon’s Mines slot. Like the rest of this tournament, the final phase has an entry fee of $5 and players compete for a share of the pot.

The Solomon’s Mines slot is a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot with a jackpot of 2,000 coins. The online slot has a multiplier bonus, free-spin bonus and a treasure hunt bonus feature.

If a week-long slot tournament isn’t your style, the online casino also has daily slot tournaments. They are the Play for the Pot tournaments and then run every day. They have a $3 entry fee and players compete for the pot, which is smaller than on the Slottery tournament because the tournament doesn’t last as long (so there aren’t as many players buying in).

Tomorrow’s Play for the Pot slot tournament is played on the Eastern Dragon slot. The next day, August 20, it is played on the Cash Caboose slot.

To take part in the Slottery tournament and play for some prize money, visit Super Slots Casino.

New Palace Groupie online slot

August 12th, 2010

Spin Palace Casino has a new online slot designed by Microgaming. The new slot is called Palace Groupie and though it was made by Microgaming, it can’t be found at any of their casinos except members of the Palace Group, which includes Spin Palace.

The Palace Groupie slot is an online slot with a rock and roll theme. It reminds me of some of my favorites movies, like Almost Famous and Rock Star, where you see a popular band make it big and all of the groupies who want to get with them. That’s sort of what this game is about.

The Palace Groupie slot features symbols of different band members, a head set, backstage pass, music fans (or groupies), and more. While you play, sounds of a rock concert can be heard in the background. The online slot does a good job of re-creating the feel of a rock concert at an intimate venue, where you are up close and personal with the band.

The Palace Groupie is a 5-reel slot. Instead of using paylines, there are 243 different ways to win in this game, making it slightly more confusing if you try to figure out how to win, but since slots are random it really doesn’t matter. The online slot has a 30,000 coin jackpot, which can reach up to 90,000 during free spins, because all wins are tripled during free spins.

The online slot has a free-spin bonus and multiplier bonuses. It also offers a gamble feature, where you can risk any money you win with a chance to add to it.

If you’re in the mood for some rock star action, the Palace Groupie online slot, found at Spin Palace Casino, may be the thing for you.

Doo-Wop Daddy-o slot at Sloto’ Cash

August 9th, 2010

Sloto’ Cash Casino has a new online slot on the way that brings back the spirit of the 1950’s. The slot is called Doo-Wop Daddy-O and it has all the sights and sounds of the era. The setting is a malt shop or diner in the 50’s and the look is decidedly retro, complete with 50’s-style neon signs.

The Doo-Wop Daddy-O slot features symbol of girls in poodle skirts, jukeboxes, roller skates, records, milk shakes, a greaser, some soda jerks and more. It looks like a scene from Happy Days or maybe Pleasantville before those outsiders decided changing everything. The online slot also has a soundtrack of pop music from that time period.

Doo-Wop Daddy-O is a 5-reel, 20-payline video slot. It has a jackpot of 15,000 coins per line, which can be up to $37,500 total. The game can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $0.25 per line.

The 50’s-themed online slot has free spins and multiplier bonuses. It also has a skilled bonus round, were you can earn bonuses depending on your performance. The Drag Race Bonus is the game and in it, you race your hotrod against another car, presumably racing for “pinks; you know, ownership papers.” I suggest putting the pedal to the metal, because “the rules are, there aren’t no rules.”* You get a better bonus if you beat your opponent.

*Sorry for the cheesy Grease references. I haven’t even seen the movie recently, I swear.

The new online slot will launch on August 24. At that time, you can find it at Sloto’ Cash Casino and other casinos that use the Rival Gaming software.

VIP Slots’ summerlong online slot tournament continues

August 4th, 2010

For those of you who are unaware, the Summer Slots Series tournament is going on at VIP Slots Casino right now. If you don’t know then shame on you! Don’t you read my blog?

Anyway, the Summer Slots Series is an online slot tournament that runs throughout the entire summer. The four-round promotion began June 1, with the tournament being played on the Funky Chicken slot. Part two of the tournament took pat on the Shaaark slot from July 1 through July 31. On August 1, the third part of the tournament began and it will run until the end of the month.

Right now, the slot tournament is taking place on the California Gold slot. Players earn points for winning spins in the tournament and the competition has a leader board format. Those with atop the leader board at the end of the tournament will win prizes.

For this third part of the tournament, there is $175,000 in prizes up for grabs. The first-place finisher will win $75,000 and the second and third-place finishers will win $25,000 and $10,000, respectively. The top 800 players in the tournament will win some kind of prize.

In addition to this final part of the tournament, there is also a fourth part, where the Summer Slots Overall Prize is awarded. Here, the player with the most overall points, combining all three parts of the tournament will win an extra $75,000. If you have not yet joined the tournament, I don’t imagine you can win this prize. However, all of the first three parts of the tournament are separate, so there is still plenty of time for you to join part three and win prize money on the California Gold slot.

The Summer Slots Series tournament can be played at VIP Slots Casino.
