Independence Day Slot at Online Vegas

April 30th, 2010

When I first started playing the Independence Day slot at Online Vegas Casino, I was a little disappointed. The slot didn’t have Will Smith fighting aliens who were trying to destroy Earth. Instead, the slot is talking about the original American Independence Day, when the founding fathers declared independence from Britain on July 4, 1776.

Once I came to accept that, I enjoyed the online slot a lot more. After all, anyone patriotic should enjoy this theme. The slot’s title is written in red, white and blue stripes and there are stars, fireworks and a flag in the background. The online slot has symbols of the Declaration of Independence, a bald eagle, the Statue of Liberty, the White House, Mount Rushmore, the Liberty Bell, Uncle Sam and more.

Independence Day is a 5-reel, 9-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $10 per line. The online slot’s jackpot is 10,000 coins, which can buy you a lot of fireworks or tea to ceremoniously throw into a harbor, if you felt so inclined. Unfortunately, all of that extra money could move you into a higher tax bracket as well…

The Independence Day slot does not have a multiplier bonus, but it does offer up to 10 free spins. George Washington is the wild symbol, which will substitute for any other symbol on the reels, and Betsy Ross is the scatter symbol.

Getting three or more Declaration of Independence symbols on the reels unlocks the Independence Day Bonus Game, which is played in three different stages. In the first stage, you are shown 8 U.S. historical figures. In the second stage, there is a map with 8 U.S. cities. In the third and final stage, there is a map showing 8 national landmarks. In each stage, you must select one of the 8 choices. Each choice has a secret bonus corresponding with it and you receive whatever bonus goes with your selection.

If you’re feeling patriotic and want to play an online slot, the Independence Day slot is a good choice. It has a mix of patriotic flair and historic symbols. To play the Independence Day online slot, visit Online Vegas Casino.

Sumo Slots at English Harbour Casino

April 30th, 2010

Sumo is a martial art that is revered in Japan and the wrestlers are regarded as sports heroes. In fact, those stars are bigger in Japan than pretty much everyone, with the exception of Ichiro Suzuki. It is an important part of Japanese culture and as such, I hope they wouldn’t be offended by an online slot based on the sport.

The game in question is an online slot called Sumo Slots and it is found at English Harbour Casino. To be clear, the Sumo Slots game doesn’t mock the sport or make it or the culture look bad in any way. However, it does have cartoon-like symbols of the characters, which some people might not appreciate.

Anyway, the Sumo Slots game has symbols of sumo wrestlers, a trophy, Japanese lanterns, geishas and more. Sumo Slots is a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $10 per line. The online slot has a variety of multipliers that come into effect when you have a winning combination using the scatter symbol.

Three or more trophy scatter symbols unlock a bonus round, where you are taken to a second screen. On that screen you see a sumo wrestling ring (called a dohyo, according to Wikipedia) that contains 9 trophies. Each trophy has a secret bonus associated with it and you get whatever bonuses go with the trophies you select.

The bonus game isn’t skilled and is kind of anticlimactic if you have been playing the online slot waiting for the bonus. In that way, the game is a little disappointing. However, it has good graphics and animation and good payouts. The Sumo Slots game has an autoplay feature as well as a free trial version where you play with fake money.

T-Rex Slot at Rushmore Casino

April 29th, 2010

When I was a kid, there was nothing I loved more than dinosaurs. Well, maybe candy, but the two were neck and neck. I collected dinosaur toys, read dinosaur books, drew pictures of dinosaurs, and even pretended to be one when playing on the playground. I always pretended I was a Tyrannosaurus Rex because that was the dinosaur I found the most interesting, since it was a vicious killing machine yet had such tiny, ineffective upper arms.

For that reason, I was thrilled to find the T-Rex online slot at Rushmore Casino. The game is named after my favorite prehistoric lizard and had a theme that drew on my love of that time period. Sure, a lot of the things that scientists “knew” about the dinosaurs back then has been updated as they learn more, but that doesn’t detract from my childhood memories.
The T-Rex slot has a background of a prehistoric jungle, with steam coming from a tar pit, lush green trees, and prehistoric plants. The online slot has symbols of dinosaur eggs, a triceratops, stegosaurus, erupting volcano, T-Rex and more.

T-Rex is a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot that has a jackpot of 10,000 coins. The online slot has various bonuses, such as a multiplier bonus of up to 200 times the bet and up to 10 free spins. Receiving 3 T-Rex scatter symbols on the reels unlocks a pick bonus game, where there are different eggs shown on the screen and you must choose one. Each egg comes with a secret bonus and you get whatever bonus goes along with the egg you pick.

The game has good graphics and animations. For example, if the T-Rex lands on the middle reel of your screen, he will attack and eat any other dinosaurs on the screen. The T-Rex slot is a fun way of reliving a childhood fascination with dinosaurs. I know it was fun for me.

Silver Fang Slot at Casino Classic

April 29th, 2010

Silver Fang is a fun online slot found at Casino Classic. It has a wolf theme, set somewhere in the Great White North. It seems that the slot is loosely based on the popular 1906 novel White Fang.

White Fang is a novel by Jack London, who I used to think was the guy on Little House on the Prairie. It turns out I was thinking of Michael Landon, though. London was best known for writing stories about nature and animals, and protagonists that die at the end (sorry if I ruined anything). He was also well known for alleged plagiarism and being a socialist and racist. It is his nature writing, though, that is the focus of this online slot. Specifically, it is the story of White Fang, the tale of a wolf-dog’s journey to domestication.

The Silver Fang online slot takes on that theme, only in this case the wolf’s teeth seem to be a slightly different color. The game has a background of a beautiful snow-covered forest, probably set somewhere in the Yukon (like the book). The online slot has symbols of a wolf, paw print in the snow, howling wolves, caribou and more. The symbols become animated when used in a winning combination.

Silver Fang is a 5-reel, 50-payline video slot that can be played in denominations from $0.01 to $0.05 per line, for a maximum of 500 coins per spin. The jackpot for this slot is 1,000 coins. The slot has a multiplier of up to 5 times and up to 15 free spins.

Though there is no bonus game in this online slot, which is disappointing, it does have a gamble feature. In the gamble feature, you are taken to a screen where a card sits face down. You can either guess the color (red, black) for a chance to double your winnings or guess the suit (spade, club, diamond, heart) for a chance to quadruple your winnings. Of course, if you guess wrong you lose what you had won on that spin.

I’m not necessarily a fan of Jack London’s books or any stories told from the point of view of animals. I am an animal and nature lover, though, so I enjoyed playing this slot, taking in all of the sights and sounds.

Fat Lady Sings Slot at Roxy Palace Casino

April 28th, 2010

“It ain’t over ‘til the fat lady sings.” That colloquialism has been around for ages and I used to think it was coined by Yogi Berra. Then one day it occurred to me that since the saying made sense, it couldn’t have come from Yogi. True enough, Yogi’s saying was “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.”

Regardless, that colloquialism sums up the perception of most people about opera: It’s just some silly thing with a fat lady singing at the end. The Fat Lady Sings online slot at Roxy Palace Casino uses that perception and runs with it. The effect is an online slot that mocks the opera, or at least the perception of opera by non-fans, but does so in a lighthearted way.

The Fat Lady Sings slot depicts numerous big boned women wearing operatic costumes and stage makeup. The background of the slot shows a theater setting and the game has symbols of different fat opera singers (sorry, maybe I should call them BBW instead of fat), the comedy and tragedy theater masks, and card symbols (J, K,Q, A).

Fat Lady Sings is a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $0.25 per line. The online slot has a 3,000 coin jackpot as well as free spin bonuses up to 30 free spins and multiplier bonuses of up to 5 times.

One of the best parts of this online slot is the hilarious bonus game. This slot bonus game is called the Pick a Pitch Bonus. In the game, there are three different stages where you, as the opera singer, try to break glasses by singing. In the first stage, there is a group of wine glasses on the shelves. In the second stage, there are vases on the shelves. In the third stage, it is beer mugs. In each stage, there is a button for a high pitch, a medium pitch and a low pitch. You select a pitch and try to break the objects on the shelves. Each glass, mug and vase has a bonus hidden within it and if you break it, you win the bonus.

This is a fun game and a treat to play as long as you’re not an opera performer or fat person who finds it to be offensive. Like many online slots, though, the game isn’t meant to be taken seriously and if you play it with the right mindset you should enjoy it.

Safari Hunt Slot at Online Vegas

April 28th, 2010

I’m not a hunter and honestly have never been hunting in my life, but I think it would be exciting to go on an African safari. I have nothing against hunting and have many family and friends who do so, but it has never interested me. If I were to go on a safari, it would be not to hunt, but to observe and photograph nature. Anyway, that’s just me.

Not everyone feels the same. Big-game hunting is a major part of the economies of many African nations and it’s an important way of preserving the balance of nature, protecting civilization and earning enough money to feed the people in the villages. For that reason, hunting safaris are important and they are the subject of the online slot I played this morning.

Safari Hunt is an online slot that can be found at Online Vegas Casino. The slot has a background of the African plains as seen during a beautiful sunset. A giraffe and silhouettes of elephants can be seen in the distance. The Safari Hunt slot has symbols of a lion, monkey, zebra, rhinoceros, a leopard, what looks like some type of antelope, a giraffe, a hunter and more. Best of all, there are no symbols of card faces (J,Q, K).

Safari Hunt is a 5-reel, 20-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $10 per line. This online slot has a huge jackpot of 10,000 coins. Though there are no multiplier bonuses, the game does offer up to 15 free spins.

The Safari Hunt Bonus Game is triggered by getting the camera and binoculars symbol of 3 reels. When that happens, you are taken to a landscape with 8 different locations. You must then select a location where you think you will find game. Once you select a location, an animal will appear there if you guessed correctly or a paw print will appear if you just missed the animal. If an animal was in the location, you gain bonus points and advance to the next level, where you again choose a location. If you get a paw print, the bonus game is over and you only get one bonus prize. This process repeats until you either choose 4 locations or find a paw print.

I find African big game hunting to be the more exciting and honorable form of hunting. After all, when taking on a cape buffalo, elephant or lion, the animal has just as much of a chance of winning the confrontation as the hunter does. That even playing field makes it much more of a sport. In other words, this ain’t no duck hunt!

If you feel the same and are interested in safari hunts, or even safaris that don’t involve hunting, then this should be a fun game. The animals are portrayed as cartoon versions instead of being lifelike, which adds a playful quality to the game. This online slot shows the lighter side of a safari hunt, without all of that danger.

Tomb Raider Slot at Lucky Nugget Casino

April 27th, 2010

I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without reviewing the Tomb Raider slot. The online slot is one of the most popular games at Lucky Nugget Casino and everywhere online, for good reason – it is also one of the best. It certainly helps that this slot takes advantage of the very popular Tomb Raider license, which has sold millions upon millions of video games in addition to the popularity of the movies (which weren’t very good), toys, comics and other collectibles. Some basement-dwelling video game nerds even have posters of Lara Croft, which is a bit much if you ask me, but it certainly speaks to the game’s popularity.

Tomb Raider was sure to be an instant hit when it was released as a computer game. It took the mystery, adventure and exploration of Indiana Jones and made the main character instead a sexy British woman with an impossibly Barbie-like figure. In other words, it’s exactly what the people who play a lot of video games look for.

The Tomb Raider slot captures all of that and turns it into a successful and enjoyable online slot. The Tomb Raider slot has a background of a tomb setting, with crisp textures and graphics that you would expect from a PlayStation 3. The Tomb Raider slot features symbols of idols, ancient hieroglyphics, a tiger, and a few different symbols of Lara Croft.

Tomb Raider is a 5-reel, 15-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.05 to $0.50 per line. The slot has a 7,500-coin jackpot. The game is known for its excellent graphics and animations – which you see mainly when you spin winning combinations –  and it certainly lives up to that hype. The game looks every bit as good as the video game I remember playing on my PlayStation.

The Tomb Raider slot also has a fun interactive bonus game. In the bonus game, you are taken to a dark tomb, where you can hear the sound of dripping water. In the tomb, there are many idols scattered around the room. Each idol has a secret bonus value between 48 and 2,000 bonus points. You must choose three of the idols and get whatever bonus goes along with them.

I am a fan of the Tomb Raider video games from when I was younger and even though I don’t think the movies were any good, it was kind of cool to see the story and character played out in live action. Therefore, I have to say that I really enjoyed the Tomb Raider online slot. I think anyone else who enjoys the Tomb Raider series will feel the same way.

Rock On Slot at Sloto’ Cash Casino

April 27th, 2010

There’s not a whole lot of things that I love more than rock and roll. I love rock and roll so much that I even love the Joan Jett song “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.” I love rock music so much that in the 1980’s, which was the worst era of rock history, I still loved rock. It is each era of rock and roll that make up the theme of the Rock On slot at Sloto’ Cash Casino, though.

The Rock On online slot embraces all of the rock stereotypes, with lifted hands giving the devil horns, a 80’s woman with spikey hair and giant hoop earrings (I think she’s supposed to be Joan Jett or Pat Benatar), a long-haired rocker man wearing a bandanna (he reminds me of Brett Michaels), a Jimi Hendrix-looking character, an Elvis lookalike, a character who looks like a Beatle, a guitar, drum set and more. The online slot’s background has giant amps, p.a. speakers and stage lighting over a wooden stage.

Rock On is a 5-reel, 20-payline online slot that has a variety of free spin bonuses and multiplier bonuses. What really makes this game exciting, though, is the bonus game. The bonus game for this online slot is a lot like the popular Guitar Hero video game franchise.

The Elvis symbol unlocks this slot bonus game, where a series of notes are shown on the screen on what looks like guitar strings. You then use your pick to try to strum in time with the music, collecting all of the notes and earning bonus points along the way. Because it is a skilled bonus game, it is possible to suck at it, in which case you wouldn’t win a whole lot of bonus points, but if you do well you will have a lot of fun and get good bonuses in the process.

To get into the spirit of rock and roll and hopefully make a little money on the slots while you do, I highly recommend this fun game. To play the Rock On online slot, visit Sloto’ Cash Casino today.

Sports Night at Platinum Play

April 26th, 2010

Da-da-da da-da-da! Most Americans know that sound and for pretty much everyone it carries a strong emotion. For those who couldn’t tell by my phonetic spelling of it, that is supposed to be the theme from SportsCenter, the popular sports highlight show on ESPN that airs I think 20 hours per day. For sports fans, that sound brings a feeling of joy, because after a long day at work you can now find out how all of the games that you missed went. If you’re a sports-hating spouse of a sports fan, that sound probably brings murderous thoughts to your mind. Even for average people, it often brings up the thought of “Wasn’t this show just on? Is it on again?” Personally, I love the show and I watch it every day, at least during football season. And baseball season. Oh, and basketball season. Okay, so I guess that’s the entire year.

Platinum Play Casino has an online slot themed after SportsCenter and similar shows. The game is called Sports Night and it has symbols of a hockey player, a soccer ball, a baseball glove, a stock car and more. While you play, you can hear crowd noise in the background, making it sound like you’re watching a live game on TV.

Sports Night is a 5-reel, 25-payline online slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $0.25 per line. The slot has a jackpot of 7,000 coins and a gamble feature, where you can bet your winnings for a chance to double or quadruple them. In that gamble bonus game, you are taken to a screen with a card face down. You then have two choices. You can try to guess the color of the card (red, black) or the suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades). If you guess the correct color, your winnings are doubled and if you guess the correct suit your winning are quadrupled.

This game may have been released back in 2007, but with the new ESPN3 (a 3-D version of their programming) this year, I can’t think of a better time to go back and play this. For fans of sports, SportsCenter and online slots, this game should be a perfect fit.

Birds of Paradise at VIP Slots

April 26th, 2010

Being from the state of Florida, I have seen more than my share of bird watchers. Retired people like to move to Florida, get out their binoculars, and spend all day on the beach looking at birds, drinking margaritas and doing other things that are depicted in Jimmy Buffet songs. The Birds of Paradise slot at VIP Slots Casino embraces that culture and pastime.

Birds of Paradise is set in some tropical paradise. To be honest, I don’t know if it’s supposed to be Florida, Hawaii, some island in the Caribbean or what. The background of the slot depicts a forest with lush green trees and plants as well as pretty flowers.

The online slot has symbols of various birds. I’m no ornithologist, so I don’t know what most of them are, but I definitely recognize a toucan. Since toucans are most commonly found in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America, that may have narrowed down our possible sites for this game. There’s also some yellow bird that could be an amakihi. Or maybe not. I did a Google image search for tropical birds and that looks like what it could be. There are lots of other birds as symbols in the slot as well as a nest with eggs and binoculars.

Birds of Paradise is a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $5 per line. There is a large jackpot of 10,000 coins, which can buy you a nice vacation in a tropical paradise. The Birds of Paradise online slot has a variety of free spin bonuses and multiplier bonuses.

If you are a fan of birds, tropical paradises or Jimmy Buffet songs, I suggest trying the Birds of Paradise online slot. To play this game, visit VIP Slots Casino.
