Operation M.Y.O.W. at Cherry Red Casino

March 25th, 2010

This world, especially America, has a fascination with cats. The longest-running musical in the history of Broadway was some lame production about felines whining about their memories of their days in the sun. Garfield to this day still takes up space in most newspapers (you know, those things senior citizens get their news from) despite only having one joke: The cat eats a lot; I get it! When I was a kid, I watched Garfield cartoons on TV in addition to Heathcliff, Eek! The Cat, and anything else with a feline protagonist. My favorite movie at that time was An American Tail, which is about Russian mice who fled to the U.S. because “there are no cats in America.” Of course, they were wrong. It turns out that the movie was actually about immigration, socialism and the Holocaust, but it was popular back then because it had mice and cats.

And don’t get me started on Lolcats! Some idiot genius figured out that you can basically take any picture of a cat doing anything that a cat normally does (yawning, sleeping, eating, playing), superimpose a stupid caption with all of the words misspelled, and have an audience of millions, or maybe even billions! This phenomenon has gotten out of control, to the point where some of the people in my office actually talk in “lolspeak” in their day-to-day conversation. They think it’s cute, but it has me wondering if my employer gets a tax incentive for hiring the mentally handicapped.

Anyway, all of my ranting and raving aside, cats are big business, and not just in Chinese restaurants. For that reason, I decided to check out a cat-based online slot that they have at Cherry Red Casino. The game is called Operation M.Y.O.W. Needless to say, that didn’t make a good first impression. Attempts at cuteness like that tend to make me gag a little. M.Y.O.W., in case you’re wondering, stands for Make Your Own Win.

Operation M.Y.O.W. is a 3-reel, single-payline online slot that features symbols of different cats. Would you like to know their names? Of course you would! They’re Lucky, Catman, Kung Fu Kitty, Catzilla and The King. Each cat has his own pay table and you get to choose whose pay table you play with. You have the option to change your mind at any time. That adds variety to an otherwise average game.

In addition to symbols of the aforementioned cats, the slot also features symbols of flowers, koi fish, and other things that cats tend to kill, not including intelligence. Okay, let me back up. I’m taking kind of a negative view of this slot based primarily on the fact that cats are really overexposed right now, but not everyone feels that way. If you love cats and enjoy the image macros on ICanHasCheeseburger.com, then you’ll probably enjoy this slot and its feline imagery.

The online slot can be played in denominations ranging from $0.05 to $5. It is a very simplistic classic slot that does not have any bonus games, multipliers, wild symbols or other bonuses. The jackpot in the game is 5,000 coins.

Global Cup Soccer Slot at Sloto’ Cash

March 24th, 2010

Right around this type of year the world goes mad for soccer (or football, depending on where you’re from). Sure, the sport is big all year long, but as we get closer and closer to the FIFA World Cup, interest grows among the casual fans and the big fans of the sport start to get a little more nuts by the day.

Given the popularity of the sport and the fervor of those who follow it, it’s not surprising that an online casino would choose now to release a football (or soccer)-themed slot game. Sloto’ Cash Casino is doing just that with their new release.

The new online slot is called Global Cup Soccer and Sloto’ Cash is launching it on April 1. The slot is designed by Rival Gaming and is a 3-reel online slot. Therefore, fans shouldn’t expect a game that relies heavily on animations, interactive bonus games or big payouts. Instead, this is more of an old-school type of traditional slot meant to capitalize on nostalgia for the old slot machines as well as the love of the most popular sport in the world.

The Global Cup Soccer game can be played in denominations ranging from $.01 to $5. There is only one payline in the 3-reel slot, so the payouts are not as large as in a multi-line game. However, you risk less money when playing, so it evens out.

If you are a big-time fan of football (or soccer), June can be a long time to wait, but even though you can’t enjoy watching the World Cup before then, you can get into the spirit by playing a new online slot based on the Cup. For that you only have to wait until April 1.

Once it’s launched, the Global Cup Soccer online slot will be found at Sloto’ Cash Casino.

Doctor Love Slot at VIP Slots

March 24th, 2010

With America’s historic passage of Obama’s healthcare reform yesterday, it seems only right that I should play an online slot set in a hospital. Don’t worry, this blog isn’t going to get political and discuss any of the pros or cons of socialized medicine. I’m only writing about healthcare because right now it’s on everyone’s mind.

For that reason, when looking at the long list of online slots at VIP Slots Casino, I chose Doctor Love as the game to play. To be honest, this game sounds like either a pornographic movie set in a hospital, a horror movie about a sadistic doctor who kidnaps patients or a bad (read: all) romantic comedy about a doctor who has everything but has yet to meet the love of his life. Two out of three of those movies I would consider watching.

Anyway, the Doctor Love slot is a little odd and I can’t quite figure out the theme. It’s definitely set in a hospital and features symbols of a handsome doctor and an attractive nurse, but she’s not the naughty nurse that you would expect if this had a pornographic theme. The doctor has no weapons and seems harmless, so there seems to be no horror theme. Is it the other choice?

There are also symbols of a patient with bandages and a thermometer in his mouth, a stethoscope, crutches, a teddy bear (which I hope is for the pediatric ward), get-well flowers, pills in a cup and an upside-down wall clock. Yes, the clock is upside down and no, I have no clue why.

Hopefully the helpfulness of the clocks, or lack thereof, isn’t an indication of the quality of care in this medical facility. Doctor Love is a 5-reel, 9-payline video slot and it can be played in denominations ranging from $0.05 to $5 per line. The game is a progressive slot, but not just any progressive. Doctor Love is part of a series at VIP Slots called Rapid Fire Slot Machines. Members of this group are progressive slots that payout a jackpot at random, meaning that you have a chance to win big money even if you don’t spin a winning combination.

There is no interactive bonus game for this online slot, but in addition to the random jackpot, the game also offers a variety of free spins and multiplier bonuses. To play the Doctor Love game, visit VIP Slots Casino today.

Achilles Slot at Rushmore Casino (Review)

March 23rd, 2010

Rushmore Casino has some of my favorite online slots because of the wide variety of themes. One game that I have recently discovered and enjoyed playing is the Achilles slot. This slot has pretty much everything that you could want if you’re into mythological stories or guys in armor attacking each other with swords.

The Achilles slot is based on the character from Greek mythology who was half-God and was invincible except for his heel. Achilles was a major character in Homer’s The Iliad, where he took on the kingdom of Troy in the Trojan War. If you’re not familiar with Homer’s epic poem then you probably know the character from that horrible movie with Brad Pitt and Eric Bana.

Aside from being “really, really good-looking” in a Zoolander kind of way, the main thing Achilles was known for was his prowess on the battlefield. Indeed, he was considered the greatest warrior in the world. My question, though, has always been that if he was such a great soldier, why didn’t he know to put armor on his heel? If he knew that was the only place where he was vulnerable, why not protect it? It’s not like his adversaries didn’t know. The term “Achilles heel” was named after him!

“Hey, man, stop shooting arrows at his chest. That won’t hurt him.”
“What do I do then?”
“Aim for his Achilles heel. It’s his only weakness.”
“Oh yeah?… Haha, I get it now. Man, I feel dumb.”

In all seriousness, the theme of the Achilles online slot takes place during the Trojan War, with Achilles and the Greeks taking on the city of Troy all because of some blonde chick. Sure, I get that she was really hot, but was she worth all of that?

Achilles is a 5-reel, 20-payline online slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $5 per line. It is a progressive slot and thus, does not have a fixed jackpot. The game has symbols of Achilles, a royal coat of arms, a shield, Helen of Troy, the Trojan Horse and more. The bonus game is basically a “pick a door” type of bonus, which is disappointing because I think a battle scene would have been nice.

Overall, Achilles is a fun online slot with good animations and playing this game is more enjoyable than watching that terrible Wolfgang Peterson movie. To play the Achilles online slot, visit Rushmore Casino today.

Hourly Winners at All Slots Casino

March 23rd, 2010

Don’t you wish sometimes that while you’re playing your favorite online slots the casino would just tap you on the shoulder and give you free money for no reason? That would be pretty nice. Of course, there’s no way an online casino is just going to start giving money away at random for no reason, right?

Wrong. All Slots Casino is doing exactly that. From March 23 through April 6, the casino is running the Bonus Magic promotion. In this event, every hour during the day the casino will reward one player with $50 in bonuses.

When deciding who receives the bonuses, the casino randomly chooses from all of the players currently logged into the casino and playing a game. Therefore, the more time you spend playing games at the casino, the better your odds of being chosen. For anyone who is chosen, it must seem like a magical moment indeed. In addition, players have the ability to win jackpots and other payouts like any other time. For that reason, players can log on and play whatever game they normally play however they normally play it and as a reward for doing what they normally do, they have an opportunity to win $50.

This promotion is the ultimate reward for loyal customers as a way of giving back without expecting anything in return. There is no entry fee and players don’t even need to know a promotion code or play a certain game. You can play any game at All Slots Casino and get rewarded for doing so.

To take advantage of the Bonus Magic promotion, visit All Slots Casino today.

Rushmore’s Prince of Sherwood Slot

March 22nd, 2010

Robin Hood has always been a character that has captured the hearts and imaginations of people around the world. Maybe it’s because he robbed from the rich and gave to the poor, maybe it’s because of his archery prowess, but I like to think that it’s because of his green tights.

Whatever the reason, there have been more books, movies, songs, TV shows, plays, musicals, statues, paintings, and architecture about Robin Hood than almost any other fictional character – that is, if he is indeed fictional  (which no one can say for sure). For that reason, I wasn’t terribly surprised to find a Robin Hood-themed slot at Rushmore Casino.

The online slot I’m talking about is Prince of Sherwood and it is an interesting game with cartoon graphics and animations. The background features the English hillsides and Sherwood Forest, with your balance, bets, money won and other displays printed on scrolls. The game has symbols of English knights, bow and arrow, Maid Marion, the Sheriff of Nottingham and of course Robin Hood himself.

Prince of Sherwood is a 5-reel, 20-payline online slot that can be played in denominations ranging from $0.01 to $5 per line. The game is a progressive slot, so the jackpot increases as it is played without getting hit. In addition to normal play, the game has a random progressive jackpot, which can be triggered at any time.

The Prince of Sherwood slot has a variety of multipliers and free spin bonuses. It also features a cool archery bonus game. In that game, you play as Robin Hood and compete with a second archer. You get different bonuses depending on where you hit on the target and whether you beat the score of the other archer. In this bonus game you can win a multiplier of up to 100 times the bet.

If you’re in the mood for playing an online slot based on a possibly-real archer thief who wore green tights and hung out with a band of merry men, Rushmore Casino is the place to be. To play the Prince of Sherwood online slot, visit the online casino today.

Senior Citizens Taking to Online Gambling?

March 22nd, 2010

I recently read an article in a California newspaper about how more and more senior citizens are overcoming their “fear of computers” and coming to embrace the new technology. One of the reasons behind this change is that they are being educated on those infernal machines. Understanding new-fangled technology has traditionally been reserved for those whippersnappers, but times are changing.

There are senior groups throughout America who are taking on the challenge of teaching new tricks to these old dogs. One such group, the Alliance on Aging, is holding an education program called Generations Online, which teaches them how to use complicated things like email, Microsoft Word and web browsers. Presumably, it also teaches them comfortable ways to type that won’t cause their arthritis to flare up.

As a result, the Web is seeing an increase in activity from senior citizens, and that includes the online gambling market. When online casinos first became popular, it was a young person’s game, with the user base consisting primarily of men in their twenties and thirties. Just a few years ago, when measuring the demographics for online gambling, the use among senior citizens was so small that most studies put them at 0%. However, as more and more seniors are learning how to use computers and the Interwebs, more are finding their way to online casinos.

It makes sense. If you’ve ever been to a brick and mortar casino, you’ll find a lot of gray, white and blue-haired folks hitting the slot machines, keno, and other games that don’t require the mental capacity of blackjack or poker. After all, even someone with advanced Alzheimer’s can figure out how to push a button on a slot machine. If you’ve ever gone to a bingo hall you have likely seen basically a fun version of a geriatric ward. So if they already like the games, why not play them online?

I expect online gambling to increase among senior citizens to where they eventually overtake younger users. After all, the current batch of seniors are only now learning how to use computers, but someday my generation will be seniors and like all seniors, we’ll be bored and looking for ways to pass our time before we die.

Not that there aren’t other ways for seniors to pass their time, but you can’t spend all day driving slow in the passing lane while looking for a McDonald’s so you can go inside and get a free newspaper and free coffee. A benefit of playing online slots and online bingo is that seniors don’t have to slow down everyone else on the road as they drive to a casino. Another benefit is that no one cares if you haven’t bathed all week (no, putting on cologne doesn’t cover up your old-man smell).

So next time you’re playing at your favorite online casino and feel like trash-talking the person at the table with you, remember that the person could be a senior citizen. That being the case, it might be wise to say nothing. After all, you should be respectful to your elders.

Tribal Treasure Slot at Roxy Palace

March 19th, 2010

I really don’t have a clever introduction to the new Tribal Treasure online slot at Roxy Palace Online Casino. It is a game with a Native/Indian/indigenous person/whatever you want to call them theme. There are quite a few games like that on the market. This game is no better or worse than the others. It’s a fun and interesting game with good visuals, but nothing stands out at you and says “play me!”

Tribal Treasure is a new 5-reel, 25-line video slot designed by Microgaming. It is set in the rainforest, as indicated by the background in the game. There are symbols of apes, a wooden spoon, a tribal ring, and more. The card letters (J, K, Q) have arrows shot through them.

The online slot can be played using denominations ranging from $0.01 to $0.20 and has a maximum payout of 500 coins. The slot has a variety of free spins and multiplier bonuses. There are more than 21 winning combinations in the game, giving you a good chance at making some money, even if the jackpot doesn’t exactly offer an earth-shattering amount.

The Tribal Treasure slot also has a gamble bonus game, where you can risk the money you win in an attempt to double or quadruple it. In the gamble mini-game, a card is presented to you and before it is, you have to guess what it will be. For a chance to double your winnings, you can choose whether it will be red or black. For a chance to quadruple your winnings, you can try to guess the suit of the card. If you guess wrong and lose your winnings, though, don’t accuse the game of being an “Indian giver.”

50K Weekend Madness at Go Casino

March 19th, 2010

Tonight the popular Hoops Madness freeroll slot tournament ends at Go Casino. The tournament is for a guaranteed prize pool of $2,500 and is played on the unique Dennis Rodman Slot. However, the fellows at Go Casino have another tournament in store for you and it begins tonight.

At 8:00 PM on March 19, Go Casino begins the 50K Guaranteed Weekend Madness tournament. This slot tournament has an entry fee of $12.99 and, as the title indicates, players are competing for a share of a prize pool of $50,000. In this slot tournament, the first-place winner takes a big chunk of the prize money — $25,000 to be exact.

This online slot tournament is played on the game Cleopatra’s Pyramid, which has an Egyptian theme, as you might guess. The tournament runs until 8:00 PM on March 23, giving players four days to accumulate as many points as possible. The entry fee gets players 325 credits to play with and if you run out, additional credits can be purchased with a rebuy that is also $12.99.

For players who are a little tighter with their wallet, Go Casino is also holding a low-roller slot tournament tonight. Players can join the Frugal Fridays slot tournament for an entry fee of only $1.99. This slot tournament is played on the online slot game Fat Cat and it has a prize pool of $1,500, which is pretty good for a tournament with such a low entry fee.

To take part in either of the tournaments, visit Go Casino today.

Climbling Deposit Bonuses at Online Vegas Casino

March 19th, 2010

We love online casinos because they offer fun games to play and often have good tournaments, but we love them a little more when they give us stuff. Let’s face it, casinos take more often than they give, not because they’re mean, but because they offer games with a house edge. So it’s nice when they give you free stuff. Online Vegas Casino is doing exactly that right now.

Online Vegas Casino is running a new promotion called the Climbing Deposit Bonuses promotion. In it, the casino gives out a match bonus for your deposits, but the percentage they match increases with each deposit. There are a total of five deposits in this promotion.

On the first deposit, Online Vegas will match that amount 100%. To qualify, your deposit has to be a minimum of $25 and a maximum amount of $500. On your second deposit, the online casino will match your amount 200%. To qualify, your deposit has to be a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $50. Your third deposit will receive a 300% match bonus. To qualify, your deposit has to be a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $50. Your fourth deposit will be matched 400% and to qualify, your deposit has to be a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $50. The fifth and final deposit in this promotion will be matched 500%. To qualify, your deposit must be a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $50. Added up, this is a bonus of up to $1,200 spread across five deposits. That’s not a bad way to get started playing games if you’re new to online gambling.

The first match bonus is automatically credited to your account and ready to be wagered. For the other four deposits, you have to send the appropriate code to customer service to receive your match bonus. See the promotions page at Online Vegas Casino for details. As usual, the deposits and bonuses must be wagered through ten times before being withdrawn.
For more information and to take advantage of the Climbing Deposit Bonuses promotion, visit Online Vegas casino today.
