Queen Casinos Adding More Than Slots

The Emerald Queen Casino in Fife is gearing up for a major expansion, one to the tune of around $150 million. It is turning out to be the biggest project that the county has ever seen. The expansion will be done in two phases, with the first being an addition to the casino.

The casino will now have a nonsmoking gaming area, as well as two parking garages. The number of slots will rise from 760 to 1,500 and many say it is a welcome addition. The Puyallup Tribe of Indians wants to make this the best casino they can, and they feel with the addition that that is exactly what they will be doing.

In addition to more slots, they are also adding two new restaurants, new administrative offices and a staff dining room. Soon thereafter, they are planning on adding a pool and other perks for their hotel guests. There will also be a convention center added.

The tribe is shooting for the end of 2007 to have the slots area open and running. The tribe says that they want to get it up and running as soon as possible, because the sooner they do, the sooner their slots revenue will be flowing, helping to fund the other phase of the project. They plan on financing street improvements while they are at it, for the City of Fife.
