Milton Business Site of Illegal Slots Raid

Internet Operations was raided in Milton Thursday night as an illegal online slots and gambling operation. The business was located in the Six Flags Shopping Center, and was one of four businesses raided on suspicion of operating an illegal gambling establishment.

The State Attorney’s Office executed the search warrants for the businesses as they had been tipped off about the illegal online slots and gambling that was going on there. The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Scott Haynes said that roughly 60 computers were taken in the raid and were in the possession of the State’s Attorney’s Office.

This type of online slots gambling has been popping up all over Florida – with locations also in Daytona, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. They are currently compiling the information that they received in order to determine the charges that are going to be made against the owners of the establishments. They say that they are not currently planning on charging their patrons, but that could change.

Even though different people were operating them, they believe that they were all connected. The ones raided were Lucky’s on Hood Drive and the Emerald Place in Pensacola, and Big Dawg Phone Card Store in Ft. Walton Beach. Customers would purchase phone cards and then use the points to play online slots, with the more minutes purchased the more they got to gamble.
