GTECH Settles in Kansas
GTECH is making headlines once again this month, this time in the state of Kansas. The state’s lottery commission green lit a contract that would allow GTECH to run the system that will support some much awaited slot machines at Kansas state owned casinos. GTECH of course, is based in Rhode Island, but is also a subsidiary of an Italian gaming software company called Lottomatica. The companies have been in successful operation for over ten years now, and have been known to supply some of the most sound, reliable and exciting avenues for the industry around.
However, even GTECH is not immune to mistakes and oops moments, when the system mistakenly reported some wrong information on the winning numbers list on not one, but three days in a row. Either way, because of the longstanding history between GTECH and the state lottery and slots, the minor slip up was soon forgiven but almost forgotten, as the company has already moved on to expand responsibility that lies on GTECH’s shoulders.
The issues have been overlooked in the decision, but the bottom line is that the Lottery has yet to decide how to charge GTECH for the losses that they suffered during those three days.
The new software will actually be able to monitor all activity going on at the slot machines, and using the GTECH platform will ultimately translate into millions of dollars of profits for the company, which they are very excited about.
