Election 08
Well November 4th has come and gone and with it, another Election season here in the United States. The world has waited on pins and needles to see who would emerge as the next leader of the country, with so much pressure that some have even said that this new President is in effect, the leader of the entire world. Much to the joy and amazement of some, and the utter disgust and sadness of others, President Elect Barack Obama has officially defeated Republican nominee John McCain. Some say that it was McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as a running mate, others say that it was his stance on online slots and casinos.
Whatever the reason was that McCain lost, the fact is that he did lose, and now we will all have to wait and see what Obama will do once he is in office. Many are skeptical that anything will actually change as promised, but some are hopeful that the country will finally be able to catch up to the rest of the world in the 21st century. Many of the country’s recent decisions have been made by a very conservative group, which sometimes, the world has seen as a sign of disconnect between the US and the current global situation.
Still, online slots fans everywhere might be most anxious to see how and if the new President will make any changes in terms of the UIGEA, which is currently being pushed as a midnight drop once again. Perhaps some sound regulation and an admittance that this new technology (that online thing) will not be going anywhere any time soon would be what the country needs at this point.
