Illegal Online Slots Club Raided

Police in Taichung arrested eighteen people on suspicion of running an illegal online gambling ring. They were using a fake law firm to make it seem that they were a legitimate business when in fact they were not. The law firm was merely a front for the illegal gambling ring. The ring had been running for some time, and the police had been monitoring it so that they could make a proper bust and seize the illegal components of the ring.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) broke up the ring and arrested Huang Chu-ming as well as 17 other people at the same time. There were computer engineers who maintained the online slots and gambling sites for Huang, as well as other employees.

The police said that they had several web sites that were operating under the business and that they had been bringing in around $3 million on average from those illegal sites. They had gamblers using the name of the law firm to return bets and therefore thought they could get away with running the illegal business.

They said that they seized the computers that were used to run the illegal slots and gambling sites, and that they found that with the sports booking that it had grown in popularity with bookies setting up their servers outside of the country. This way it was difficult for them to stop them, but they were determined to stop those that were working on their shores.
