Argentina Says No
It looks like Argentina is the latest on the list of the countries who are fighting tooth and nail against letting online slots casinos penetrate their territory. For one reason or another, these countries do not think that they would benefit at all from the legalization, regulation and taxation of the internet casino industry, and see it rather as an enemy that needs to be squelched immediately.
An interesting thing to note would be that land casinos often have a large part to do with the opposition force, since they are worried that the increased presence of online casinos will create more competition for them, and the ease and convenience of the online slot games will eradicate their own viability.
Either way, Argentina has upheld their own strict ban on online casinos of all types, and it is not to say that several companies have not already tried their hardest to penetrate the market. Internet gambling is actually illegal in the country, and as this is the law, they do have the right and the ability to block certain sites from being accessed within their country limits.
till, many online casinos and their supporters view this as a violation of free trade agreements, as well as a direct opposition to international progress. The authorities is Buenos Aires have maintained their position however, and it looks like they will not be budging for a very long time. Although Latin America and Asia are certainly the next frontier when it comes to online slots, it is clear that Argentina will be a tough nut to crack.
