Cambridge Study

In another study having to do with the medical and psychological effects and background behind the common behavior of online casino lovers everywhere, the University of Cambridge has a professor of Psychology who has been taking part in an extensive study that is just one more reason to regulate and tax online slots.

The research involved several trials using an MRI machine, which examined and pinpointed the exact activity in the brain while players were online playing slots. Actually they used a simple slot machine to activate the participants’ brain waves, in order to hone in on the exact reaction when a person wins, versus the exact reaction when a person almost wins but doesn’t.

The results were pretty astounding, but perhaps the thing that is the most interesting is that these results basically coincide with all the other studies done on online slots players.

Apparently the brain doesn’t differentiate between a win and an almost win, which means that players are more than likely going to be playing more slots machines when they actually lose.

This may have a lot of information for researchers in the battle against gambling dependencies and might be helpful in the ongoing search for the right way to regulate the industry, while keeping all players and family members safe and sound.

Most important to note would be the fact that slots games are completely random and no matter what, the outcome can simply not be predicted. Of course, everybody knows this, in theory, but it doesn’t change the fact that people’s brains usually work in a certain way.
