Casinos are Ahead of the Curve

It would seem interesting that the casinos could be credited for this, but in fact they can be. Consumer self serve is the way of the future, and the casinos have known this for years.

Consumer self serve has started to permeate all aspects of our lives. Whether it is the self checkout at the grocery store or the ATM at the bank, we have been servicing ourselves for longer than we are even aware of. Some people prefer self serve to having to deal with people – especially since some customer service people are just plain rude. But others are not particularly happy with the fact that the world seems to be going the way of the machine.

Some generations of people just won’t use self serve, so it isn’t like we can give up on real people just yet, but others do everything by themselves and like it. Years ago the casinos used their self serve machines to do pretty much everything except play the slots for you.

You could play the slots at the casino then go to a kiosk and find out your point balance on your card, which then eventually led to them paying out comps and cash. Some would give you cash like an ATM for playing their slots.

Now you can use your slots game as a kiosk with the cash and credits going straight into your machine to keep the money in the casino. Then you could play the machine to get your comps. Interesting idea, especially since it worked.
