Illinois Says Yes

Illinois is the latest state to jump on the online slots bandwagon. Well, almost. The state has just approved a measure that will allow their residents to take part in online wagering, which means this is a small victory for the world of online gambling, since it is a crystallization of the fact that American citizens do want the legalization of online slots and gambling casinos, if only for the chance to do something fun in the comfort of one’s own home.

Especially with the recession, people have been staying home more and trying to cut back on entertainment expenses. Going to the movies often turns into an expensive night out, and the idea of putting money into a stay at a Las Vegas hotel, on top of food and entertainment, is just painful. People want to be able to take part in their favorite activities without having to also pay extra for a ll the incidental expenses that go along with it.

Illinois has just given the ok to people who just want to stay at home and play the same games that they would be playing at a regular slots casino. They will be playing with and winning the same money that they would be playing with and winning at their closest land casino.

It will be interesting to see if the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is in conflict with this new approval, since Federal law seems to take precedent over state legislation. The law has already gotten in the way of some other states who have voted to approve online slots casino gambling, such as New Hampshire and North Dakota.
