Bad Way to Play

There are many reasons that people gamble. From the thrill pushing your luck, to the relaxing sensory experience, people love playing slots. However, most people play because there is a high probability that winning cash could be a potential outcome. Why, then, do some people forget their credits in the slot that they’re sitting at and walk away? It makes no sense!

But alas, as humans are [severely] imperfect, they will undoubtedly make mistakes such as forgetting to cash out and leaving their credits still in the machine. By the same token, imperfect and often naïve humans might mistake the credits already in the machines for some kind of starter credit that they might have already earned. They might just sit down at the slot machine, often without playing attention, and start playing.

This all sounds pretty mundane and safe. Except for the part where the new person is committing a crime. Deliberate or not, assuming rights to somebody else’s credits, ie money, is wrong and illegal. Even if the person didn’t realize it upon sitting down at the slot machine, even if the person who left was never going to come back, the rule doesn’t change.

Finders keepers doesn’t work in the world of slots. The rules don’t change in the world of online slots, but as with any virtual activity, people are held to an honor code, since really there is no way to police what goes on behind the safety of an anonymous computer screen. However if dishonest activity is discovered, it is enough to disqualify the player from whatever game he was playing, and potentially cause the online slots website to ban any activity from that player.

Not a good idea.
