Room for New Ideas

Competition is rough these days, across the board. Everybody wants to succeed, and to do that, you have to know how to stand out among the crowd. That’s true as an individual trying to make it in this world, and the idea certainly holds water in the business world as well. For land and online casinos alike, each one tries daily to outdo, or outthink, or outsmart its competition. Each one is constantly thinking of new ways to attract new players, and keep them coming back, using innovations like new and exciting themes, sound effects, or cutting edge graphics. Staying ahead of the pack takes a pinch of foresight, a bunch of money, and tons of imagination. And maybe just a little spirit of adventure, because you have to be willing to test some boundaries, and change up the rules.

A prime example of a casino that is doing just that is Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun. In an effort to keep up, they are currently undergoing a massive overhaul and expansion, and the casino is slated to be one of the most expensive building projects in town. Projected to cost about $900 million (that’s just an estimate, round up), the brand new Casino of the Wind will feature all the bells and whistles that the Mohegan Sun needs to attract more players. But here comes the paradox. Everybody is trying to be Unique, just like everybody else. And so, the Mohegan casino will still be a casino, complete with slot machines, table games and cocktail waitresses. However, they have found a way to bend the rules and do something that hasn’t been done. Get this- the new casino will have windows! Step 1- Play slots. Step 2- Check out that gorgeous view!
