Slots Provide Rebate, But No One Wants It

The government of Pennsylvania has got to be wondering why people voted for slots in their state. The whole premise behind the slots was that they would help residents, especially the elderly by giving them a break on their taxes. Well, that is all well and said, but you can’t give rebates away if no one wants them.

It seems that the slots have been bringing in enough money for more than 700,000 residents to get a state rebate that would enable them to get about $650 off of their property taxes or rent. However, many residents have not yet applied for the rebate.

The government estimates that they have well over 200,000 residents that have not applied for the rebate that the slots have provided them. The government says that they have put out flyers, they have canvassed, they have done a lot of marketing on the rebate so that people would be aware of it and apply for it.

However, they still haven’t applied. With Monday being the deadline for seniors and the disabled to apply for the slots rebate state officials say that they will lose out if they don’t get their applications in. When officials saw that so many people had not applied for the rebate, they ensured that everyone knew, but all of their canvassing has only brought in a few more thousand over the past month.

The Governor says he is surprised and disappointed that more people haven’t signed up for the slots rebate; he says he would have thought that more people wanted to save the money. His camp says that if you want to apply you can go to www.papropertytaxrelief.com for an application.
