UK Machines Go Up

Slot machines in the UK will be seeing some happy customers as well as some increasingly broke customers, as the wagers that the machines accept will now have a higher limit, according to the British government. With higher wagers, come higher payouts, yes, but of course, a higher risk always means that the possibility for loss is higher as well.

Either way, it was been in a huge debate for months now, and the global economy is suffereing, so governments are looking desperately for ways to jumpstart the economy without having to do any major cutbacks on crucial programs such as education or healthcare. The fact that UK residents wanted the limits to go up and the timing of the whole thing is just convenient, since now it looks like people will be pumping their money back into the system through online slots and slots casinos.

However, since people everywhere are seeing some tough times, it could also backfire in such a way that most people choose instead to stay home and not spend money, even though the potential is higher.

Of course the slots debate is the same everywhere. There are people who want to have fun and want to preserve their right to engage in these activities like responsible adults. There are the people who say that gambling creates too much danger and risk and makes addiction and bad influences more readily available to people at risk, especially children. And then, of course there is the government who would benefit from the extra cash flow, but must also balance that with the responsibility of protecting its citizens.

Only time will tell what effect the limit increase will have in the UK.
