Recession and Slots Update

Everybody knows by now that we’re officially in a recession. What’s interesting to know however, is how that is specifically affecting each industry. Weddings, which have been a huge spending opportunity for the past couple decades, have now officially been scaled back. Gone are the days of platinum valued fireworks shows, and expensive honeymoons, and huge week-long bashes. Instead, people are deciding to forgo honeymoons or take mini-moons, or maybe opt for a small wedding celebration and put the money they saved into a down payment on a house.

In the slots world, people have been cutting back and therefore there have been less jackpots hit in the recent few weeks. Some think it’s because people are cutting back on spending in general. Others think, or hope at least, that people are instead saving up in order to enter the slew of upcoming tournaments and several online slots casinos.

What is interesting to note however, is that the interest and activity hasn’t changed outside the US, but has definitely been decreasing in the US.  Golden Casino has definitely reported that change in the numbers.

Another thing that is very odd is that clearly transactions are getting through and in effect violating the UIGEA. Much like the hard time the record companies are having with online music exchanges, things are still happening, and in huge and frequent numbers. Still, that’s not enough to catch everybody, and just because one person is caught, it is impossible to make each person pay the consequences.

Even so if the rules are so blurred it’s difficult to tell who is at fault and how the reparations should be made.
