Genetics and Online Slots
Hundreds of studies have been done by research companies and universities alike in the quest for knowledge about the effects of online casinos and the general public. Since people are so polarized over the merits and dangers of online slots gambling, it is important to obtain concrete evidence to support either side, and it looks like everybody is racing to get the results they need.
Perhaps on the side of those opposed to the legalization of online slots, researchers in the US have just found some evidence to support the notion that genetics might have something to do with a person’s predisposition to slots addiction or risky dependencies. There is supposedly a certain combination of DNA structures that cause people to be more or less affected by risky behaviors such as gambling and alcohol and drug addiction.
The identification of this missing piece of the puzzle is actually quite crucial since it could lead to the understanding of the issue and then possible treatment options. The study, done by Northwestern University, says that people will be closer to defining what each portion is for, and how they all work together to form a person’s actual demeanor. This, in combination with a person’s socio-economic and cultural background, makes a person who they are. That makes it more difficult to say for certain which one is having what kind of effect.
Not only do the markers have an effect on a person’s predisposition to an activity, but they also might dictate how they behave in those certain situations. For example those variations might mean a person is more or less conservative with their risks, and how high they think they payoff might be. The larger the anticipated payoff, the more inclined a person will be to take a higher risk.
