It Was The Best of Times…

When you think over last year in terms of online slots and gambling, it seems that this was one of the worst years ever in the industry. However, you would only be partly right as it wasn’t a great year, but it wasn’t a terrible year either.

Last year saw the passing and enforcement of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or UIGEA, but it also saw major growth for the online gambling world as well. Online slots and gambling are in areas that they never were before, so even as they keep saying you can’t play people still find a way to do so.

This growth of course does not come without its consequences, and by closing off its borders to legitimate online slots and gambling companies, it also opened its doors to those that are not. The year brought an influx of unprofessional and “crooked” sites that were willing to take their money and run.

But it also brought out your watchdog sites that let their readers know which sites were good ones and which ones you should stay away from. There were those that gave in depth looks at the online gambling world and how it relates to the bigger picture, which is great for those who might have wanted to get into the online gambling arena but were not sure how to do so.

There was also the great news that casino sites like Casinomeister had a hard time picking their best of lists as there was so much to choose from. There were undoubtedly those that would not make the list due to shady business practices, but for everyone that would not make the list there were a ton more just waiting to fill the void.
