Changes at NYX
Famed land casino group NYX Interactive, which is based in Sweden, is making headlines once again as they are extending their reach into the UK, as well as the rest of Europe. While they have had divisions there for a while, it is not until now that they will be appointing an experienced leading to head a concentrated team just to pave the way for the new expansion.
The new guy will be Steve Cook, who has an extensive background in sales and marketing at a high level, and he will be based out of London. He and his team will be responsible for developing the branding and image specifically for the UK market, which is already pretty saturated with other online casinos and land slots houses.
He has already built other casinos from the ground up and established unquestionable strength in other companies all over Canada and Europe. Most recently, Cook was the European managing director at Parlay Entertainment, which is a company based in Canada but was at the time working on extending their reach into the UK. Of course, the whole operation was quite successful, which means that Cook already has the previous knowledge and experience he needs to “parlay” that into this new venture at NYX Interactive.
What is perhaps most interesting is the growing trend of executive sharing, in which employees are no longer tied and loyal to one company throughout their careers, but instead jump from one to the next in search of higher pay and a more lucrative title. With salaries in the slots industry going higher and higher, of course people will follow the money. Also companies win because they have a constant supply of fresh ideas, instead of putting pressure of the same people to change their way of thinking every season.
