People Risk Everything on Slots

The problem with casinos and slots addicts is that they feed off of each other. One would not exist without the other, no matter how much the casinos say that they don’t want slots addicts in their casinos. If they didn’t want to profit from them, they would return their money – but that is another argument for another day. The fact remains that wherever you will find a casino, you will find a slots addict not far behind.

Slots are the most addictive of games, everyone knows that – they are also responsible for the majority of revenue for the casinos. You walk into a casino and lined up on the slots are the elderly, the young, men, women, etc. – slots take all kinds of people to play. But of all of these slots players, very few will walk away with any kind of a win. The slots are a game of chance, nothing more – nothing less; and if you are going to play the slots, you have to play them for fun – not for the win.

Then there are those outside of the casinos that are all too willing to help the slots addict feed his disease – the pawn shops, the 24 hour loan places, etc. All of these establishments are just lying in wait for the next slot machine addict to walk through their door and try to pawn something to get a little more money for that big win.

When asked, the pawn shops say that they don’t loan to slots addicts, that they simply help those who might need a little more money on a specific evening to continue having a good time. They say that they wouldn’t allow slots addicts to come in because they won’t get paid. Still, it is awfully convenient to set up shop outside of a place known for desperate people using desperate measures.
