Ameristar Casino

The first thing you notice when you walk in the door of the Ameristar complex in Kansas City, Missouri, is the sound of ringing slot machines. Standing next to a slot machine is an elderly man who seems as calm and collected as can be. He waits and the supervisor comes over and checks his slot machine, and confirms the win. He has the look of someone who has won here before, and he has.

There have been lots of wins at this casino, and lots of losses as well, but it is no wonder that people keep flocking to it. It has revenue of $253 million for its owners, and slot machines, hotel rooms, a movie theatre and concert hall, etc. for their customers. The casino is popular because people like to gamble and the Ameristar is one of the nicest in the area.

The Ameristar is also one of the country’s largest casinos, and is considered a destination casino because of all of the things that they have to offer. It sits just north of Kansas City, and is one of four riverboat casinos in the city. Wyandotte County will be adding a casino soon, and the Woodlands will be getting slot machines, so competition is going to be heating up.

The Ameristar is two boats pushed together and won’t actually be going anywhere, but who needs it to with the kind of revenue it is pulling in. Dress is casual for most, but in the higher limit rooms for the table games people dress a little more sophisticated. You may not be able to get a free drink if you aren’t a member of the Star Club, but you can sit at the bar and play the slot machines while you drink.
