Yahoo! Wants Women

Yahoo! says that they have been working very hard to gain a portion of the population that they have before been neglecting. They are working to gain the trust of middle aged suburban moms. They have started a new site called Yahoo! Shine, and they hope to pull in their specific demographic.

The site, located at shine.yahoo.com is going to have many features including gardening info, parenting, etc. They say that as this has previously been neglected, they are putting the spotlight on them now – as are their advertisers. They are going to work hard to get their attention as they are known to have “the highest conversion ratios for online advertisers.”

One of the areas where they are expecting a large portion of their advertising revenue to come from is the online slots arena. They receive a large chunk of their revenue from stay at home moms and older who choose to spend their time, and their resources, playing the online slots and gambling.

Much of their time is spent in the pursuits of online slots while their husbands are at work, or their children are at school. They are currently considered to be the fastest growing demographic. They can advertise online slots and casinos under their “sponsored ads” area even though online casinos are not currently allowed to advertise in the US.
