Confirmation of Online Slots in Finland

It seems that Raha-Automaattiyhdistys or RAY, the Finnish slots association, has confirmed that they are indeed looking into online slots and gambling for the country. They say that as early as mid 2008 the country may start embracing online slots instead of looking to prohibit them.

Raha-Automaattiyhdistys is Finland’s state owned slots association, and they have the ultimate right to add online slots if they choose – as all decision making process is fed through the Finnish government. They say that they are in the investigative process of looking into the online slots to see if they might be of some benefit to the country.

They say that they are taking some time to look into the matter, and depending on what they discover, they will be ready to make a decision regarding online slots coming to Finland. RAY, having been run through the company, has exclusive rights to the online slots addition, as they run the country’s land casino as well.

With other European countries coming under fire for not allowing online slots and gambling, Finland is assuredly looking to bring the slots in before they come under fire from the European Commission as well. They say that they are looking into the “judicial, political, financial and ethical conditions” that would come into play with the addition of online slots, and once they have worked that out they will make a decision.
