Online Slots Will Most Likely Be Approved

It seems that France has had a change of heart when it comes to online slots and gambling. The country is now looking into regulation instead of prohibition – which makes a lot more sense to many in the country.

Experts had been watching the play by play for online slots and gambling in France, wondering if they would take their cues from Germany or the United States in trying to make a monopoly in their own country. Neither of the countries seems to be doing very well with their attempts to limit online gambling, as both are in the midst of court cases involving their online slots and gambling policies.

However, it looks as though France has chosen to go their own route on this one. Instead of prohibiting it, they are going to try and regulate both the online slots and gambling industry – as well as betting online. If the local newspaper reports are to be believed, they could have them up and running by 2009, 2010 at the latest.

President Sarkozy has made no secret of the fact that he is pro online slots and gambling, and he is expected to give his approval of the plan very soon. His prime minister has already started talks with the European Commission in regards to it.

France is looking at a “new system” for online slots and gambling, working in partnership with other countries. They are considering this route instead of taking the models that the UK or Italy have been using. By the end of April they are expected to start moving in this direction.
